Learning and Growing Together
I believe that children learn through play and benefit from a structured yet flexible schedule. I want your child’s experience at Katie’s Kinder Garden Preschool and Child Care to be a very positive one. Along with having lots of fun, I strive to create a learning environment in my home. Our child care is a multi-age group so we need to adapt our schedule and activities to accommodate all of the different needs of our group.
Our preschool activities target the 2 to 5 year old age group. These activities include circle time, calendar time, story time, alphabet letter and sound recognition, number recognition and math games, weather chart, group activities and crafts. Our activities are based on monthly themes. Special arts/crafts activities and other types of projects are important to help the children expand their learning and creativity.
Our preschool activities are scheduled during the morning nap time for the little ones. During the summer months, our preschool activities are less structured. The children are allowed to work on several learning software programs on the iPad. We spend as much time outside on the playground area as weather permits. There are also flannel boards, blocks, manipulatives, puzzles, musical instruments, puppets, dress-up clothes, magnet games along with A LOT of toys.
There are many toys, activities, and learning opportunities for the infants and toddlers in our group, as well. The infants and toddlers are included in all of our activities unless they are napping.
